Christine Hale, MEd earned her Bachelor's degree in History from Agnes Scott College in Georgia, and a Master's in Special Education from the University of Connecticut. She is a teacher, tutor and consultant in the area of reading and learning disabilities. Christine has taught regular and special education classes for over 17 years in mostly middle and high school grades in both public and independent schools. She also taught for the Read to Succeed Adult Literacy Program, where she trained volunteer tutors in the multi sensory structured language techniques.

When working with younger students as a reading tutor, she listened as parents often expressed criticism regarding the teaching of reading. Nearly every parent she encountered felt that their school system had failed their child and had been unresponsive to concerns about appropriate instruction. These parents had similar experiences with their various school systems.

This led to the desire to produce a book advising parents on how to advocate for their child with the school. Parents also need to know if the school's interventions were effective, as well as how to approach the issue if the child did not make progress.

Today Ms. Hale continues to tutor children, advise parents and function as an advocate in public school as well as private practice.

Christine is available for lectures, workshops, and conferences on Multisensory Structured Language methods and techniques for teachers and advocacy for parents.
